CJ began his career as a pool manager, lifeguard, CPR instructor and swim instructor at the YMCA before pursuing the commercial pool industry as a trade. He holds an International Business (BSBA) from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

Sawyer keeps current as an Aquatic Exercise Association AEA™ Aquatic Fitness Professional. He teaches aquatic wellness classes like Aqua Pilates, Aqua Cardio at small to large clubs. CJ worked to develop the water mixture process that revitalized the mineral spa industry in Manitou Springs, Colorado. He has learned to appreciate and facilitate aquatic wellness modalities like Ai Chi and AquaStretch™ under the supervision a physical therapist. He keeps an active Water Safety Instructor WSI™ certification from the American Red Cross but also has developed his own curriculum to teach swimming.
